The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has opposed a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator’s proposal to build a mural of Lord Ram on the 1.5-acre ground located in the Dhankawadi-Ambegaon Pathar area. On Tuesday, the standing committee approved a budget of Rs 2 crore to create the mural on the ground developed for sports activities in ward number 39. According to BJP’s Varsha Tapkir, the mural will be built on one side of the ground. “My aim is to get inspired from Lord Ram beyond religion. For this purpose, I have proposed the mural, and the budget for the same has also been approved,” she said.
