Wellness expert: Incentives to help encourage COVID-19 vaccination, but not sustainable

Local authorities and establishments alike have been dangling incentives in the form of prizes and perks like discounts to entice the public to roll up their sleeves for COVID-19 shots.

LIST: Restaurants and food brands offer rewards to vaccinated diners

There are more benefits to receive after getting your bakuna! While vaccines are now rolling out in different parts of the country, many Filipinos are still hesitant to participate and take their shots due to a number of reasons. Although the Department of Health stressed that vaccination should be voluntary, it also pointed out that it is a “moral obligation” for everyone to participate as it is the likely solution to end the spread of COVID-19 and the best armor against it. To encourage everyone to get vaccinated, the food brands and restaurants are giving out special treats and rewards to individuals who are already vaccinated. Yes, just like the lollipop we got when we were young at the end of our appointment with the dentist or doctor. These rewards are not just trinkets for being brave (especially for those who have fear of syringes) but also for being selfless, thinking about their loved ones and their community.
