CAL FIRE urges public to avoid fire hazards during holiday weekend
With extreme heat and drought spiking wildfire risk, people may want to reconsider lighting off fireworks this Fourth of July weekend.

CHICO, Calif. - CAL FIRE wants to remind people to be safe and sane this Fourth of July weekend. Even within the city limits of Oroville and Gridley, anything that goes up in the air or travels or moves along the ground is illegal. Those are not considered safe and sane fireworks,” said Rick Carhart, Public Information Officer for CAL FIRE Butte County.
