Fire restrictions implemented within Idaho State Parks MGN Online IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - As areas of Idaho move to Stage 2 fire restrictions and as Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) implemented open fire bans due to poor air quality, Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) will implement the ban on campfires and will also be banning propane-fueled fire rings. As of July 15, 2021, all north region state parks are banning campfires and propane-fueled fire rings. Propane grills and cooking stoves are still permitted at this time. The southern portion of the state will be moving to Stage 1 fire restrictions on July 16, 2021. While this does not prohibit campfires or propane-fueled fire rings, IDPR will put a full ban on fires if the restriction level moves to Stage 2 or DEQ bans open fires due to air quality.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)-Campfires and propane-fueled devices have been banned at north Idaho State Parks while other federal agencies have expanded fire restrictions in southern Idaho as fire conditions worsen. DEQ extends Air Pollution Forecast and Caution for Lemhi County MGN Online LEMHI COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has extended an Air Pollution Forecast and Caution to notify residents of Lemhi County of degraded air quality.  Due elevated pollutant levels health impacts may occur, burning restrictions are in effect. Air quality is currently in the unhealthy for sensitive groups category and is forecast to range from the moderate to unhealthy category. The pollutant of concern is Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5). When air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups, sensitive persons may experience health effects and should limit prolonged or heavy exertion and limit time spent outdoors. The general public is unlikely to be affected.
