The homeowner showed KOCO 5 how his home is hanging over the edge.“Your heart stops and your life passes before you because you know, financially, it’s pretty much over,” homeowner Gary Schmidt said. Schmidt is talking about the beloved home he’s had for over two decades.“On July 31, I was going to pay off the mortgage and give my wife a little fake deed,” he said. But now, after the massive amount of rain we’ve had lately, his home is hanging off the edge. I noticed our bird feeder was gone, so I look out and just as I looked out the bridge timber collapsed,” he said.The creek water rose and destroyed a side wall Schmidt had against his home. “This wall was made from bridge timber and stood on in and was embedded in concrete,” he said.And Schmidt’s home insurance won’t cover the damage because
Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of having several illegal marijuana growing operations across the Oklahoma City metro.Police recently released body camera video that shows the moment officers found plants growing in an Edmond garage.The incident started when a lawn service worker noticed something strange with the garage, so he called the landlord. Police were called, and they found an illegal marijuana grow. This kind of thing, unfortunately, can happen anywhere, said Emily Ward, with the Edmond Police Department.According to court documents, police found 42 plants, jars of marijuana and equipment for growing. It was clear there was some type of operation operating out of this house, Ward said.Police said the man operating the grow is Alejandro Ruiz, who they realized had ties to three other illegal grows in Edmond and a few others across the metro with pounds of marijuana found.
