The product affected, the Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kit. includes a topping kit that contains traces of egg. The topping kit was intended for another salad kit. No other salad kits have been affected.
According to Dole, “No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date in association with the recall.” Contaminated salads went out in nine states, Alaska, California, Idaho, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Utah. Dole Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kits Recalled
A popular brand of ready-made salad kits is being recalled. The United States Food and Drug Administration is reporting that Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a limited number of cases of their Dole Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kit. The concern is a possible undeclared allergen.
The potential undeclared allergen is egg. Dole has reason to believe that the dressing and topping kit designed for a different product of theirs was unintentionally used during a portion of the production of the Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kit. Because the dressing and topping kit wasn t intended for this specific salad kit, the eggs aren t listed as ingredients and therefore the potential for allergen-concerns exists.
