Dole Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kit Recalled For Allergens
Dole Fresh Vegetables is recalling Dole Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kit because it may contain egg, one of the eight major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. The dressing and topping kit that was designed for a different Dole product was unintentionally used during a portion of the production of the salad kit. That means that anyone who is allergic to egg who eats this product could have a serious reaction. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to the company to date in association with this problem.
Dole Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kits Recalled
A popular brand of ready-made salad kits is being recalled. The United States Food and Drug Administration is reporting that Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a limited number of cases of their Dole Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kit. The concern is a possible undeclared allergen.
The potential undeclared allergen is egg. Dole has reason to believe that the dressing and topping kit designed for a different product of theirs was unintentionally used during a portion of the production of the Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kit. Because the dressing and topping kit wasn t intended for this specific salad kit, the eggs aren t listed as ingredients and therefore the potential for allergen-concerns exists.
