Some salads delivered to Maryland, Virginia, and eight other states are beyond their printed “best if used by” date, according to officials at the Food and Drug Administration.

Careful with that bag of salad! Dole Vegetables Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of one salad kit product due to possible contamination with an allergen. The product affected, the Sesame Asian Chopped Salad Kit. includes a topping kit that contains traces of egg. The topping kit was intended for another salad kit. No other salad kits have been affected.
According to Dole, “No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date in association with the recall.” Contaminated salads went out in nine states, Alaska, California, Idaho, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Utah. The use-by-day date on the recalled packages is 01-15-21 and the product code is 0-71430-00035-9; the recall lot numbers are B364016 and B364017.
