Speaking after his jab, Michael said: “The whole thing s been brilliant. Very straight forward and very nice friendly people all along the way, from the minute you arrive at the car park. They talked me through it all before giving me the jab and I honestly didn t feel a thing. They then made sure I was feeling ok before I left. The whole thing was so well done. And it was brilliant for it to be happening at the Madejski. I love the Royals to bits, my father used to take me when I was younger to the old pitch at Elm Road and now I’m here having my Covid jab at the Madejski, it’s just been a really great experience.

| Updated: 10:45, 21 February 2021
In May 1976 a group of people passionate about running met at the Further Education Centre in March to see what interest there would be in starting an athletic club in town.
As a result March Athletic Club was born. Among those at the first meeting were Peter and Gena Jackman and Peter was elected as the very first chair.
Now 45 years on, Peter has published his collection of photos and news reports in one A4 colour volume.

This collection charts the various moves the club has had, the building of the running track at the current Elm Road site and the progress of runners at the London Marathon. Itâs a chance to reminisce and remember all the great events Peter has been involved in with the club.
