A new library, apartments and a cinema are to be built at the old Blockbuster site in Sidcup, Bexley Work transforming the old Blockbuster store in Sidcup into a new library and cinema complex has begun.
Bexley Council called the launch of the project welcome news for many of us looking forward to brighter days. The contractors Neilcott, who are locally-based, arrived at the site at 106 High Street in Sidcup last week to start work. The project will see the site of the old Blockbuster store revitalised, resulting in nine new apartments, a new community cinema, and library ready by April 2022.
Company set to provide WiFi to affordable housing developments in Princeton lacked required contractor certificate
The Princeton Council is going back out to bid to seek a vendor to bring Internet access to residents of the affordable housing developments owned or managed by the Princeton Housing Authority and Princeton Community Housing.
The Princeton Council rejected the sole bid for a contract to provide Internet service to the affordable housing developments at its Jan. 19 meeting. The company lacked the required public works contractor certificate. State law requires contractors who work on publicly-funded projects to hold a certificate.
Administrator Marc Dashield told the Princeton Council that the administration reached out to the vendor that is applying for the public works contractor certificate. The initial bid was “on the street” during the holidays, which may have limited the number of bidders, he said.

WARREN “It’s going to be a busy summer,” with numerous sewer and waterline projects, and plant upgrade projects in Trumbull County, said Gary Newbrough, head of the county Sanitary Engineer’s office.
By the time the projects are completed, approximately 257 new sewer and water connections to the county system will be in place.
Of the eight projects ready to go in 2021, three are improvements to the county’s utility infrastructure.
A $20 million upgrade to the treatment plant in Brookfield is scheduled to start in about a month and is expected to be completed in 2022, according to Newbrough’s documents.

A run-down community building is set for refurbishment, as part of a £1.7m project to provide emergency accommodation to support the homeless.
Breckland Council has announced that it is creating a modern temporary accommodation unit in Thetford for people in the district who require emergency housing.
The work is due to begin later this month, led by Cocksedge Builders, and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

GASTRO DOCTOR AT STEWARD: Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Steward Medical Group have added Dr. Meredythe McNally, a gastroenterologist.
She is board certified in gastroenterology and has a robust clinical interest in inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
McNally earned her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, now known as Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown. She completed an internal medicine residency as well as her gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minn.
