Lee Christopher Gough posted the clip of himself on Facebook wielding a knife in his hand. The 35-year-old said he was going to kill unnamed people and that he was driving a stolen vehicle. Prosecution barrister, Christopher Pix, told Southampton Crown Court that Gough, of Northam Road, drove from Ringwood to Southampton where he intended to drive off a pier. The defendant had been drinking in pubs in the New Forest town with his boss and watching the England vs Croatia game on June 13 this year.

The 37-year-old contacted her using an online messaging app called Kik. Prosecution barrister, Emily Lanham, said: “The “messages back and forward included references to implied sexual acts and whether or not she liked older men.” Simon Virgo covers his face outside Southampton Crown Court. However, Virgo, of Walker Gardens, Hedge End, was actually speaking to police officers. Following a raid on his home, officers seized two mobile phones and two Ipads.

Darren Cooper led police on a chase while driving a blue Mazda, a court heard. The 41-year-old was spotted in New Road, Fawley, but failed to stop when a police car switched on its blue lights. He later reversed the car and rammed into the patrol car before speeding along Blackfield Road. Prosecution barrister, Catherine Donnelly, told how Cooper eventually fled from the vehicle on foot. But, when a police officer ran after him telling him to stop, he threatened him verbally.
