Offaly people urged to sign up for Darkness Into Light this Saturday

With only days to go to this year’s Darkness Into Light, proudly supported by Electric Ireland, people across the country are getting ready to share One Sunrise Together on May 8th. Pieta and Electric Ireland are continuing to invite people to sign up at www.darknessintolight.ie and to take part in any way they can – walking, running, swimming, biking or simply sharing this special sunrise moment that can unite us all whilst still staying physically apart.
BELFAST-based Fermanagh artist Eimear Campbell has both photography skills and a way with a paintbrush. Working primarily on canvas using acrylic paint as her medium of choice, she creates stunning landscape art using rich colours and bold brush marks. Recently venturing out as a full-time artist and photographer, Eimear has plans to develop her work into larger-scale pieces, to really showcase her artistic style. Here she talks to The Impartial Reporter about her artistic background, her favourite project, to date, and what art means to her. What is your artistic background? MY ARTISTIC interest began at a young age; I was always creating art, and in school I was one of those pupils who never left the art department!

It s been over a year since our world was turned on its head, and everyone has been affected by the pandemic in one way or another. One woman who has always been so open about her mental health struggles is author and podcaster Caroline Foran, and she joined Mairead on the show.
Caroline had her first baby during the pandemic, her son Caelan is nearly 9 months old now. She shared her experiences of post partum anxiety with Mairead, and how frightening it was to go through while navigating being a mother for the first time.
DESPITE the impact of Covid-19, Pieta provided 1,712 hours of counselling in 2019 and 2020 in the Clare area and supported 109 local people in 2020.
Pieta and Electric Ireland are now urging the people of Clare to share ‘One Sunrise Together’ on May 8 for Darkness into Light. One year on from when the country went into lockdown, Pieta’s services are in demand more than ever and they need the public’s support. Clare people are being encouraged to register at www.darknessintolight.ie to take part in a special Darkness into Light that can unite us all whilst still staying physically apart.
This year, participants can walk, run, swim, hike, bike or simply share One Sunrise Together for Darkness Into Light, as organised walks are not possible due to Covid-19 restrictions.
