Irish Times food writer Lilly Higgins says the Japanese dish has âlong been one of my kidsâ favourite dinners. Essentially itâs a tangy, sweet, smooth curry sauce served with breaded chicken. Along with a mountain of soft white rice, this is one dinner that never gets complaints,â she says.
She also has a recipe for katsu curry with aubergine and sweet potato slices, âYasai katsu involves slices of aubergine that become meltingly delicious inside their deep-fried crumb coating once cooked, and the sweet potato slices retain a little texture and are perfect for dipping into the sauce.â

A Kildare restaurant, the Aimsir, has retained its two Michelin Stars in the 2021 Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland, which has just been published.
The restaurant is located at the Cliff at Lyons, not far from Celbridge.
Run by Jordan Bailey, originally from Cornwall, UK, and Majken Bech-Bailey, from Denmark, the restaurant opened in late 2018.
Majken Bech Bailey told us that this is the second two star from Michelin.
How are they getting along with Covid? “Pretty good at the moment,” said Majken.
