JAMMU, Feb 10: The BJP continued its winning spree in the elections for chairpersons taking top posts in Reasi and Samba District Development Councils (DDCs) today but dramatically lost the post of vice chairman to an Independent candidate in Reasi after tie of votes. With this phase of election over, the BJP has won chairpersonship of all six DDCs where the elections have been held so far.
Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch and Rajouri districts will go to polls in last and final phase on February 13.

JAMMU, Jan 11: The management of Sunrise Public School, a unit of Sunrise Educational Trust distributed woollen caps and socks to children and their parents, here today.
Manpreet Kour, Founder Director explained the children and their parents about ongoing situation arisen due to COVID-19 pandemic and also asked the parents to take care of their wards in the ongoing cold waves. LUDHIANA: A massive protest was staged here on Friday against the central and state governments by several trade unions and Anganwadi workers in support of the farmers protesting against the new agriculture laws. The protest call was given by the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (Citu).
The police had a tough time tackling the protesters, who had gathered outside the mini secretariat, and minor scuffles were also witnessed between them. Traffic movement was affected briefly as the protesters came on the main road to stage a march.

On one hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi boasts of Make in India mission, while on the other, he is selling one after another public undertaking to Adani and Ambani. On the pretext of bringing bullet trains in the country, attempts are being made to sell even the railways to the corporates.
DDC Members Administered Oath Across JK
SRINAGAR: The elected members of maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections held in the history of Jammu and Kashmir were on Monday administered oath by respective district heads across all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion, 138 DDC members representing 138 Block Constituencies of 10 districts of the division swore in the name of God and pledged to bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution of India and also uphold the Sovereignty of India.
AT SRINAGAR: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, today administered oath to the recently elected members of District Development Council (DDC) of Srinagar, who registered their victory in the first DDC election held in Jammu & Kashmir.
