WBGZ Radio 3/8/2021 | By Mark Ellebracht - WBGZ Radio Fire crews from East Alton, Wood River and Alton responded to a report of a fire at a home in the 400 block of Bowman in East Alton on Sunday afternoon.  The fire was located on the back porch and inside the rear of the home, but no injuries were reported. The call came in to the East Alton Fire Department just before 3pm Sunday of an unknown fire at the rear of the residence.  While in route, fire crews learned the back porch was on fire along with some of the inside of the home prompting a call for assistance from Wood River and Alton Fire Departments.  All three departments worked to extinguish the blaze and put water on hot spots and left the scene around 4:30.  The Roxana Fire Department was on standby as the Rapid Intervention Team and the Rosewood Heights Fire Protection District covered East Alton Station 1 during the event.
