A new mayor and two new City Council members began their terms of office Monday in Wood River. City Clerk Stacy Ehrman administered the oath of office to new Mayor Tom Stalcup and incoming council members Scott Tweedy and Jeremy Plank. Stalcup has served on the council for six years, first appointed after the late mayor Fred Ufert passed away in March 2015.
He handily defeated former Mayor Cheryl Maguire in April’s election. Plank and Tweedy are serving in public office for the first time. Mayor Stalcup tells the Big Z it’s time to get down to business and he looks forward to working for the citizens:
