EDWARDSVILLE An Alton woman claims EMS agents failed to properly treat and transport her husband, resulting in his death.
Benita Hopkins, individually and as special administrator of the Estate of Chad Hopkins, filed a complaint Dec. 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court against the City of Alton, alleging wrongful death.
According to Benita Hopkins complaint, her husband Chad Hopkins became ill on Dec. 13, 2018, and required emergency medical services from the Alton Fire Department EMS at their home on Central Avenue in Alton. She alleges that her husband s death on Dec. 13, 2018, was a result of the EMS personnel failing to properly monitor, access and treat him. She further alleges the EMS personnel failed to have the ambulance properly stocked and that their equipment was not properly maintained. Hopkins claims her husband was not transported in a timely manner to a medical facility and that Alton failed to properly train its EMS agents.

It might be time for a short road trip to another part of New Hampshire to enjoy the landscape, get a different perspective, and maybe buy some unique Christmas gifts in a Main Street store along the way.
I declared two days off from writing last Friday and this Tuesday to visit Littleton and Portsmouth and I took my dog Maisy.
We left the Northwest corner of Lakes Region first to Rye Beach last Friday for a nice walk in the 45-degree weather at low tide.
