LOCK HAVEN The following court proceeding were held before district judges. Michael Allen McKay, of Port Matilda, charged with driving under the influence of the highest rate of alcohol-first offense, driving under the influence as a minor and driving under the influence-first offense, waived for court. Jessy Wayne Snyder, of Loganton, charged with driving under the influence of a high rate of alcohol-first offense, driving under the influence-first offense, careless driving and disregard traffic lane, waived for court. Brennon K. Reighard, of Jersey Shore, charged with driving under the influence-first offense, driving under the influence of a high rate of alcohol-first offense, disregard traffic lane, turning movements and required signals and careless driving, waived for court.

LOCK HAVEN Three more businesses in Clinton County have received funding through the COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program (CHIRP).
Those receiving a total of $70,000 in grants in the second phase of the program are Twilight Diner of Loganton, $30,000; Variety Buffet of Mill Hall, $15,000 and Stella A’s Bar and Grill in Lock Haven, $25,000.
With the second phase of the COVID relief grant program now ended, applications are being accepted for the third phase of the four-phase program open to 10 counties and directed to help hospitality businesses that are struggling from the pandemic’s impacts.

Scam alert
LOCK HAVEN According to the Lock Haven Police Department’s Facebook page, it has received several fraud/theft complaints regarding gift cards.
Police say that if someone text or emails you and asks you to purchase any gift cards then send pictures of the codes, this is a scam. The emails or texts will appear to come from someone you know but it’s not really them. The most common gift cards requested are Google Play and Apple.
One-vehicle crash
MILL HALL A one-vehicle crash was investigated by state police at Lamar on April 27.
According to police, Alyssa Simmons, 20, of Loganton was traveling South on Back Lane, a paved, one-lane roadway. Police say that Simmons lost control of her 2005 Subaru Legacy and struck s metal trailer. Following that impact, she continued on, hitting a tree and a wood pile. She then traveled North on Skaar Lane before making a left turn onto Creek Road.
MILL HALL Changes may be coming to Mill Hall Borough’s motor vehicle nuisance ordinance.
Council approved sending proposed amendments to its solicitor Paul Ryan of Coploff, Ryan, Welch & Houser for review.
Four amendments were proposed to council by its Police and Safety Committee including: Vehicle Owner has an abandoned vehicle on real property or another. Vehicle registration is expired for greater than one calendar year. Vehicle inspection is expired for greater than one calendar year. Vehicle is contributing to blight conditions in Mill Hall Borough.
Police Chief Brandon Coleman told council the classifications for abandoned vehicles in the current ordinance, which was created in 1969, aren’t as viable today.
