Indices end at record highs
Heavyweights helped benchmark equity indices close at record highs on Monday on hopes of better Q3 earnings. Sensex jumped 486 points to end at 49,269 led by IT and auto stocks. Nifty closed 1% higher at 14,485.
HCL Tech, Infy and HDFC were the top gainers on the Sensex, while Bajaj Finance and its twin Finserv and Reliance were the biggest laggards. The broader markets underperformed benchmark indices.
On the Sensex, 20 stocks advanced and 10 declined.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd is quoting at Rs 2939.6, up 0.35% on the day as on 12:44 IST on the NSE. The stock is up 34.65% in last one year as compared to a 13.4% gain in NIFTY and a 53.76% gain in the Nifty IT.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd rose for a fifth straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 2939.6, up 0.35% on the day as on 12:44 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is up around 0.18% on the day, quoting at 13898.2. The Sensex is at 47487.2, up 0.28%. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd has added around 7.8% in last one month.
Meanwhile, Nifty IT index of which Tata Consultancy Services Ltd is a constituent, has added around 9.41% in last one month and is currently quoting at 24100.3, up 0.65% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 11.04 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 28.5 lakh shares in last one month.
Govt to export 50,000 MT fertiliser to Nepal

A proposal was okayed on Wednesday for exporting 50,000 tonnes of granular urea fertiliser to Nepal after procuring from local producer KAFCO.
The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) approved a total of four proposals, including fertiliser export proposal.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal chaired the meeting held virtually.
Briefing reporters virtually after the meeting, the Finance Minister said the government would first purchase fertiliser from KAFCO, Bangladesh and then export it to Nepal. He said that such kind of trade with a neighboring country would further brighten the image of Bangladesh in the international arena.
