The IPO could hit the market by the end of 2024. Separately, the conglomerate is also considering transferring some of its non-core assets to Tata Capital. The Tata Group is planning to bring about an IPO to restructure operations and make the company public.
The S&P BSE Sensex plunged more than 900 points while the Nifty50 failed to hold on to 22,000 towards the close of the session. Sectorally, selling was seen in utilities, power, public sector, metals and telecom stocks.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) shares have rallied 10.20 per cent during this period. The second largest player Infosys has risen 4 per cent; HCL Technologies and Wipro, the next in line, have gained 8-11 per cent.
