Private Michael Muldoon, of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, was only 18 when he was accidentally shot during a training exercise at Whinnyhill Shooting Range in Burntisland, on November 14, 1917, while stationed at Kinghorn in Fife.
Private Muldoon was subsequently buried in an unmarked grave in Bo’ness Cemetery.

The PURE ETCR series, which is set for its inaugural season this year, will be recognised as an FIA World Cup from 2022.
“It is with great pleasure to see the FIA family of touring car competitions further broadened with the addition of the FIA eTouring Car World Cup,” said Alan Gow, FIA Touring Car Commission President.
“It’s the ideal scenario for FIA-sanctioned touring cars to have the traditional combustion-engined WTCR coexist with a new all-electric competition discipline utilising an innovative format. This is an important step for all parties involved and I’m looking ahead with great excitement to see this new competition take shape.”

British Touring Car Championship chief executive Alan Gow has admitted his delight at the strong field that has come together for the 2021 season.
The series will feature a capacity grid of 29 cars despite the ongoing issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, with no fewer than eleven brand new cars having been built across the winter That includes the new Cupra Leon, which debuts in the hands of Team HARD.
Despite the departure of Honda, three manufacturer/constructor teams will still feature after Motorbase elected to lodge a constructor entry alongside WSR/BMW and Speedworks/Toyotam whilst the return to the grid of both Gordon Shedden and Jason Plato means four former champions will be featured.
