Plans have been submitted to Glasgow City Council for land at Summerston THE developers behind plans for hundreds of homes in Summerston are pressing ahead with the scheme despite a council study ruling housing should not be built on the green belt site. They have raised issues with the study, launched due to a housing land supply shortfall in 2017, and submitted a new application for planning permission in principle. If approved, the plans could initially see around 500 homes built on 220 acres of land at Blackhill Farm, on the northern edge of the Glasgow City Council boundary. An earlier planning application, submitted in December last year, has been withdrawn to give the council and the developers, Caledonian Property Investments Ltd, time to consider the study.
James Cole to become Driving Standards Advisor
4 months ago
Former race winner James Cole has been named as the BTCC’s new Driving Standards Advisor after Jeff Allam took the decision to stand down from the role.
Allam elected to leave the position after the Brands Hatch season finale, with a number of different candidates being spoken to in relation to who would come in to replace him from 2021 onwards.
Cole – who raced for Team HARD, United Autosports, Motorbase and Team BMR during his time in the series – will take up the position from the opening round of next season and will be one of the three person panel that decides if any penalties should be handed out after on-track incidents.
