Posted: Jul 15, 2021 8:58 PM Posted By: Alek LaShomb The Jeremiah Program and United Way of Olmsted County held a virtual meeting today, inviting participants to discuss how to combat generational poverty.  The event featured a mix of guest speakers, from personnel with Rochester Public Schools to former graduates of the Jeremiah Program. The Jeremiah Program is Minneapolis-based but has a location in Rochester. The Program s main goal is to help single mothers achieve their career goals while providing affordable housing and childcare.

KAAL-TV Created: April 06, 2021 08:41 PM (ABC 6 News) - Finding affordable housing continues to be a challenge throughout Minnesota.  So an area family and local business leaders are digging in to help make the family s dream a reality.    Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity is set to put up its newest home in Owatonna. A ground-breaking celebration this afternoon featured local business leaders lending their support and standing alongside the family.   Each applicant is required to put in 200 hours of sweat equity, complete financial planning and education to prepare for homeownership. Daikin Applied and Climate by Design partnered to donate $100,000 for this building project, so a single father and his three children will soon have a stable and happy home.

Posted: Feb 26, 2021 11:04 PM Posted By: Mary Peters AUSTIN, Minn. - A Habitat for Humanity trailer was stolen from Mason City and left in a cornfield.  When it was found, all the tools were stolen.  Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity and the Rocheseter Area ReStore are helping out the non-profit.  Habitat for Humanity says there were about $6,000 worth of tools stolen.  Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity tells KIMT News 3 they are giving ladders, toolboxes, tools, and other supplies to help out.
