February 3, 2021 4:34 pm PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A Barrington man was found guilty on misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges after an altercation with his next-door neighbor in August. Richard Gordon, 71, was found guilty in court on Wednesday of one count of each simple assault and disorderly conduct. “The State filed a sentencing enhancement in this case, pursuant to Rhode Island’s Hate Crimes Sentencing Act, on August 11, 2020. RIDOH reports 158 new cases of coronavirus, 13 additional deaths

The state reported 158 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 13 additional deaths since Monday’s report. Health officials said out of the 5,763 tests administered on Monday, the positivity rate was 2.7%. There are currently 307 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. 41 people are in the ICU and 25 are on a ventilator.
