The following changes are expected to go into effect on Monday:
The Henderson Expressway eastbound toward East Providence will be reduced from two lanes to one lane from the access road from Waterman Avenue in Providence to Massasoit Avenue in East Providence.
The Henderson Expressway westbound toward Providence just prior to South Angell Street in Providence will be reduced from two lanes to one lane.
Massasoit Avenue in East Providence in both directions will be reduced from two lanes to one lane at the Henderson Bridge interchange, between Wilmarth Avenue and Dexter Road.
RIDOT said the lane closures will allow the department to build connector roads and other changes in effort to advance a traffic shift on the bridge in mid-January.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Police arrested five protesters outside of Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo’s home on Wednesday night.
The protestors gathered on Wednesday to demand better inmate care at the ACI, following an outbreak of COVID-19. In the past week, both an inmate and corrections officer have died after contracting the virus.
