This February 23rd will mark Canada’s Agriculture Day. A day which marks a special celebration for farmers. The day was originally started in 2016, and has since evolved into a day where people all across Canada are encouraged to celebrate Canadian agriculture in any way possible. The Middlesex Federation of Agriculture is going to be handing out burger buns on Saturday, February 20 at Dorchester Foodland, Lucan Foodland, Parkhill Foodland and Glencoe Foodland. The Ontario Federation of Agriculture is encouraging those who receive the buns, and anybody else, to take part in the #BurgersUpOnt challenge. London Police Services provide crime update

The meeting was attended by police officials, along with Mayor Ed Holder and Ward 4 Councilor Jesse Helmer. Deputy Chief Patricia McIntyre gave insight into London in terms of sexual assault cases, declaring 436 new incidents. Slighty more than 200 of these are currently worthy of review, but are being backlogged as a result of the pandemic. COVID-19 related restrictions such as being unable to meet face-to-face were cited as being the main reason so many cases are currently not being reviewed.

Northeast London fire leaves one person dead

Shortly before midnight the London Fire Department responded to a call reporting a fire in a townhouse unit in the northeast end of the city. Upon arrival, the fire department encountered heavy black smoke and immediately commenced search and rescue procedures. One person and one pet were found deceased inside the home, with total damages currently sitting at an estimated $250,000. Investigators are yet to determine the cause of the blaze, and are currently on scene.
