Started amongst a couple friends, Mint and essential custom wear are fast growing clothing brands developed right here in London Ontario. Tomas Alvarez, Juan Gutierrez, and Eric Garcia came together to start their company during the current COVID-19 Pandemic.
The group of friends just wanted something to do during the pandemic, so they came together and started their clothing brand. Juan Gutierrez of Mint had more to say about how the brand came about.
“We all came together with an idea of what fashion was going to be, and what kind of cool things we could do once the whole COVID thing happened. So we made a little fun concept of clothing. We would say were a lifestyle fashion brand. With this whole breakdown of everything that’s going on in the world we just found a way to enjoy doing something while on lockdown.”

With the Lockdown in effect and the pandemic ongoing, London’s Public Library has seen an increase in E-book rentals.
“We’ve definitely seen an increase, I think a rough estimate is maybe a 30% increase or so.” Said the Libraries CEO Michael Ciccone. “We’ve certainly thrown some more of our budget toward that during this closure.”
Like many other businesses and services the Library has faced it’s challenges while trying to navigate the pandemic. Ciccone explained that the Library has been fairing well, thanks to being able to offer in-building services when possible.

Many use the terms “interior designer” and “interior decorator” interchangeably, but should they? The short answer is no.
Andrea Bursey is the lead designer at Design House London and she said, “an interior designer can be a decorator but a decorator cannot be a designer.”
There are many reasons for this such as the education needed, licensing requirements, and the jobs that each take on.
Education
Dana Morningstar is the Associate Dean for the School of Design at Fanshawe College and she highlighted three main differences between interior design and interior decorating. The differences are: 1. the entrance requirement into the program, 2. the length of time that it takes to complete the program, and 3. the types of jobs that one can get in the end.
