New Delhi: Eight years after the project was first broached, India and Maldives have signed an agreement to develop and maintain a coastguard harbour and dockyard at Uthuru Thilafalhu â a strategically located atoll near the Maldivian capital of Malé.
This standalone agreement remained the biggest development, even though on the last day of his two-day visit, Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar announced a line of credit worth $50 million for defence projects.Â
