Melcher-Dallas Boys Track Team Prepares For Fresh Season | KNIA KRLS Radio

The Saints, last time they competed, finished fourth in the Bluegrass Conference Tournament behind Lamoni, Ankeny Christian and Murray. After the hiatus, Coach Jon Suntken tells KNIA Sports that it is going to be hard to get a read on the team this season.   “Getting back into race mentality and race shape, whatever that may look like. Form in the hurdles in the shot, disc, long jump, high jump, it is going to take some time for us to get back.”   Suntken also says that he expects the Krpan Twins, Steven and Ryan, to be the leader of the 13-player lineup the Saints will put forth.

Twin Cedars Returns to Action at Ankeny Christian

The wait is finally over. Twin Cedars basketball is back in business. The Sabers, after missing two weeks following a positive COVID-19 test, will be back in action today as they head to Ankeny Christian for a Bluegrass Conference double header. The Saber girls will go up against a winless Eagles team while the TC boys face an ACA squad that is currently undefeated in league play. Boys Head Coach Blake McWilliams says that the hardest thing to do after getting back to practice was getting his players back into game shape. “It’s good to get back in the gym. It’s good to get some shots up. Try to get them back in shape a little bit. Two weeks off can really take a toll on you, especially when you’re in the middle of a season. Our conditioning had been pretty good, and then taking two weeks off, you almost have to start getting it going again. So that’s how we’ve attacked it so far.”
