The “Next Normal” brings new opportunities, novel ways to learn and grow, and a different set of priorities for the UAE youth, asserted experts at the Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations (MBZMFG 2021).
The virtual event took place on Sunday, under the theme Thriving in the Next Normal, where participants delved deep into topics ranging from the skills that will be most in-demand in the future to tactics that young people could implement to face these pressures, adapt to their new surroundings, and strive to innovate and excel.
Abu Dhabi: It is a shame to ignore one’s mental health, and not a shame to face mental health concerns, a top UAE leader said on Sunday.
Speaking at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, urged greater awareness of mental health in the UAE. “In the past, [mental health was considered] taboo and people often considered them to be physical problems. [But we] need to understand that anyone can experience mental health problems. There is no shame in having them; [instead] it is a shame to ignore them,” Sheikh Abdulah said.

The third annual Mohamed bin Zayed Majilis for Future Generations takes place on Sunday with the theme of Thriving in the New Normal.
The event will allow young people to communicate directly with decision-makers and experts to discuss their ambitions and help prepare them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
“The great turnout from young people at a rate never before seen in this event is a reflection of the growing popularity of the Mohamed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations,” said Mohamed Al Nuaimi, director of the Education Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, stressed that success can only be achieved through work and is not an entitlement, adding that the UAE is a country that defies the impossible and whose ambition has no limits.
He made this statement during a discussion session at the inauguration of the third edition of the Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations, under the theme, Thriving in the Next Normal, with the participation of key leaders and decision-makers from around the world, as well as experts and over 13,000 young people.
