Hoffman qualifies for national contest
SHELBY - Students from across North Central Ohio competed in the Ohio SkillsUSA Championship, and a Crestview student earned a gold medal to qualify him for the national competition.
The career technical student organization is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce, according a news release prepared by staff at the Pioneer Career and Technology Center.
SkillsUSA is a nonprofit national education association that serves middle-school, high-school and college/postsecondary students preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

New AU physician assistant studies program earns provisional accreditation
ASHLAND - Ashland University’s new physician assistant studies program passed a significant milestone en route to its fall 2021 debut with news the program has been granted provisional accreditation status by the commission that oversees PA education in the United States.
The first cohort of 24 students will begin the program this fall, attending classes during the first 12 months of the program and clinical rotations the second 12 months in order to earn a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.
Applications for the 30 seats available in the 2022 cohort opened April 29. Going forward, cohorts of 36 students will be admitted. A complete list of the 2021-22 PA program admission requirements can be found at ashland.edu.
