Design agency DrawHistory rebrands, reveals new hires

Strategy and design agency DrawHistory has rebranded, as well as adding staff and revealing a new purpose statement to reaffirm its remit to tackle social issues.
The agency has unveiled its new positioning statement, in which its rebrand is rooted: “Designing new futures for people who need tomorrow to be better than today.”

DrawHistory has also unveiled its new logo, as well as growing its roster with key hires from Google and Wikipedia, and announcing expanded services into social research, community engagement, and public relations.

Founder Jeffrey Effendi returns after a stint at Google, while Kosta Lucas comes on board as head of community, Essie Zar joins as head of brand, and Christine Garcia arrives as head of comms & PR.
Nine News Sydney diverts to Melbourne after technical glitch

Nine News Sydney was briefly forced off the air on Monday night, with Nine diverting the feed to Nine News Melbourne for a short period of time.
The bulletin cut out and news anchor Peter Overton was replaced on NSW screens by Melbourne’s Peter Hitchener, and then switched back to the Sydney studio several minutes later.
That left sports presenter Cam Williams on screen, who blamed technical issues… “But it’s great to have you with us. Stick around, anything could happen.”
A short time later, Hitchener tweeted: “It was because of some technical issues at Nine Sydney, which were sorted out after a few minutes.”
Season two of Emergency returns to Nine on May 24

The second season of Emergency, an in-depth look at the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Emergency Department, will premiere on Nine today at 9:00pm.
The show will continue to look at the frontline of one of Australia’s busiest hospitals, diving into the lives of doctors and nurses, with Nine getting unprecedented access to the inner workings of the hospital.
Nine revealed that old favourites will return, including Dr Mya and husband Dr Bjorn, Dr Jonathan, Dr Emma, and doctors Sarah, Michael, and Michelle.

They’ll also be joined by new faces: Dr Luke De La Rue and Dr Scott Taylor, and Nurses Ebony, Sarah, and Kelsey.
Aussie digital ad market remains buoyant in Q1 with $2.88bn in spend

The digital advertising market in Australia grew significantly in the March quarter, with figures from IAB Australia showing year-on-year growth to $2.883 billion.
Search and directories were up 26.5%, while general display increased by 28.9% and classifieds went up 18.5%.

The data comes from the IAB Australia Online Advertising Expenditure Report (OAER), prepared by PwC, and suggests that digital advertising in Australia is outpacing the overall ad market.
IAB Australia CEO Gai Le Roy said the figures were clear signs that the market is rebounding, reflecting increasing consumer confidence.

The new campaign highlights moments of ‘me-time’ and ‘escapism’ which Hayu offers via its 8,000+ episodes of worldwide reality and true crime television programs.
Hayu is shown to be useful ‘For ditching the bra’, ‘For banishing the boyfriend’, ‘For bathtime escapism’ and more relatable moments when ‘The relief is real’.
