Mumbrella was recently contacted by a group of “disheartened and angry” staff from Clemenger Group who voiced their frustrations at salary cuts, forced leave, and redundancies, particularly in light of the company going on to post a healthy profit for the 2020 calendar year. M&C Saatchi reveals new Melbourne appointments

M&C Saatchi Melbourne has announced three new appointments, with two group account directors coming on board, as well as a new head of media.
Reflecting the growth of the business, Nat Downes and Milly Scott will take on those group account director roles. Garth Moring, meanwhile, has been hired into the new head of media role.

Momentum Worldwide Australia reveals new hires and promotions

Creative agency Momentum Worldwide Australia has announced two new appointments and a promotion, as the agency continues to expand.
Momentum said the appointments allow the agency’s other accounts to be more evenly distributed and managed across the team following new account wins across experiential, retail and content work.

Brittany Auchterlonie joins in the role of senior account manager, having most recently worked client-side in digital and brand marketing for Mad Mex restaurants.

The way the industry thinks about linear TV and how it works with advertisers is changing, says Ticker’s founder Ahron Young.
Speaking with Mumbrella for this week’s Mumbrellacast, Young, whose business moved to a new office at the former Melbourne GM Holden HQ this week, explains Ticker’s business model and why it went down a different path to traditional TV businesses.
Young established Ticker in 2019, bringing his experience as a reporter and bureau chief for Sky News to set up an entirely online news service. He says the challenges of building an audience for advertisers to get meaningful ROI, or pulling in enough subscribers to turn a profit, turned him off either of those ways of thinking.
Australian Influencer Marketing Council welcomes L’Oréal Australia

Leading beauty group L’Oréal Australia has joined the Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) as the industry body continues to work towards elevating transparency and best practice in influencer marketing.
The AiCMO said L’Oréal’s addition to the council will bring experience in influencer partnerships and the impact they have in driving consumer engagement.
Other members of the AiMCO cover areas including marketing tech, social media agencies, leading talent agencies along with influencers and content creators.
L’Oréal director CX and social media governance, Emma Williamson, and corporate legal counsel, Jenna Adamson, will represent the beauty company on the council.
