Long Weekend on the Farm

Long Weekend on the Farm By imramet on May 18, 2021, 2:44pm EDT 2 Nice field, the Dutchess (yes, that s the spelling) With an opportunity to get away for a few days and the wife and kids willing to tag along this time, I settled on heading up the Hudson to see the Yankees new high-A affiliate, the Hudson Valley Renegades. After finding a nice place to stay with a lovely view of the river and purchasing tickets for all games of the four-game series against Aberdeen (Orioles affiliate), it was merely a matter of making the long drive. The family got to have fun, notably with some good hiking and a boat trip during the day. Mostly temperatures in 60s, only one rain delay, made good baseball weather.

Catcher Austin Wells, the Yankees’ first-round draft pick in 2020, has begun his season with consecutive standout performances and outfielder Trevor Hauver, a third-round pick in 2020, has been even better. Two games in, the left-handed hitters have combined for nine hits, four homers and 11 RBI while Tampa amazingly has scored 30 runs in starting its season 2-0.
