The minor league season is just underway and already two of the Yankees’ newer touted prospects are piling up hits, especially the ones assigned to the Tampa Tarpons, who were demoted from Class A Advanced to Class A this season.
Catcher Austin Wells, the Yankees’ first-round draft pick in 2020, has begun his season with consecutive standout performances and outfielder Trevor Hauver, a third-round pick in 2020, has been even better. Two games in, the left-handed hitters have combined for nine hits, four homers and 11 RBI while Tampa amazingly has scored 30 runs in starting its season 2-0.
