Belarus is in favor of cooperation with its western neighbors in combating illegal migration, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich said as he met with Deputy Director General for Management and Reform of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Amy Pope in Geneva.

The deputy minister communicated to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Belarus' concerns over the unfounded accusations in the media increasingly promoted by Poland and Lithuania against the Belarusian government on the purposeful use of illegal migration against the European Union.
The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights needs to stop serving "big politics" and to turn their attention to specific needs of ordinary Belarusians, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich said as he met with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk .
