Despite the international community's toolkit for weapons export control and national legislation in arms export control, such measures do not always work, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich said.
The unchecked flooding of weapons into certain states is a direct way to escalation of tensions, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich said.
Noting Belarus' proximity to the epicenter of the conflict in Ukraine, Yuri Ambrazevich voiced concern over the ongoing actions by North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries to step up their supply of weapons to Ukraine, as such arms might end up in the hands of non-state actors and terrorists.
Yuri Ambrazevich spoke against dividing the world into "the garden” and "the jungle" and against imposing someone's approaches to state, political and other development through sanctions and unilateral coercive measures.
