6 Suspects Held Over Journalists’ Killing: Andarabi December 29,2020
KABUL - Interior Minister Masoud Andarabi on Monday said six suspects belonging to Taliban and Daesh groups had been arrested in Kabul and provinces in connection with killing of journalists. He told this in a joint meeting of government and media representatives chaired by Second Vice President Sarwar Danish and attended by Attorney General Office, deputy interior minister and deputy spymaster, members of journalist unions. A statement from the second Vice President Office said the meeting discussed recent terrorist attacks that left a number of journalists, civil society and rights activists dead. Vice President Danish said recent attacks and incidents were shocking for the entire nation in which renowned personalities from media, civil society and rights bodies lost their lives.

GHAZNI, Afghanistan, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) Three people were killed and three others wounded in three separate targeted attacks in Afghanistan on Monday, authorities confirmed.
In eastern Ghazni province, gunmen opened fire on two provincial revenue directorate workers and killed them in Police District (PD) 2 of provincial capital Ghazni city at about 8 a.m. local time, Ahmad Khan Sirat, provincial police spokesman, told Xinhua.
The spokesman said the custom workers were on their way to office and were killed by terrorists equipped with silence weapons.
In neighboring Khost province, an improvised bomb targeted vehicle of Sayyed Asghar Akakhil, a provincial council member, on the outskirts of provincial capital Khost city, killing one security guard and wounding Akakhil and a security guard, chairman of the council, Rahis Kafel Rayhan, told Xinhua.

At least 11 Al-Qaeda members and two Taliban senior members killed during Afghan air forces airstrikes in Helmand province, the Ministry of Defense said.
According to the ministry, these strikes were conducted in the Nawa district.
These Al-Qaeda fighters used to train the Taliban to make bombs in Helmand, the ministry said.
“Massoud Ahmad who was the facilitator for Al-Q fighters in Helmand is among those killed by the airstrikes,” the ministry claimed.
Taliban did not comment yet.
This comes after the ministry claimed on Saturday at least four Al-Qaeda and 15 Taliban fighters were killed in Afghan air force strikes in the Nawa district of Helmand province.

Kabul (BNA) Freshta Kohistani, a women’s rights activist, was gunned down in Hesa-e-Kuhistan district in Kapisa province on Thursday evening, the Ministry of Interior confirmed.
The incident happened at about 5pm local time. According to the MoI, Kohistani’s brother was also killed in the attack. Within minutes of the targeted killing, Afghans took to social media in anger. This is the latest in a string of assassinations of a public figure. On Wednesday, Yousuf Rashid, the CEO of Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FEFA), was gunned down outside his home in Kabul in what has become a clear increase in targeted assassinations, either through the use of magnetic IEDs against vehicles o
