The 2021 homicide list includes six victims under the age of 18. The total of 22 homicides matches the 2020 total, Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said.

Two suspects are behind bars in this week’s killing of a 16-year-old in Tuscaloosa.
Jashon Griffin, 22, and Johnneius Wilson, 17, have been arrested and charged with capital murder and attempted murder. Wilson was already out on a bond for a murder with which he was charged in June 2020.
Xzorian Gray was killed in this week’s shooting that happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday near Fosters Ferry Road and 21st Street. Tuscaloosa police arrived at the scene to find Gray wounded inside a vehicle.
UPDATE: A 16-year-old boy has been identified as the victim of a fatal Tuscaloosa shooting.
According to reports, the Tuscaloosa Police Department has confirmed Xzorian Gray was shot and killed on Tuesday night at Fosters Ferry Road and 21st Street.

TUSCALOOSA A Tuesday-night shooting has left one man dead in Tuscaloosa.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Fosters Ferry Road and 21st Street. According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, officers were called to the area at 11 p.m. Tuesday and discovered a young male victim inside a vehicle. He was suffering from gunshot wound injuries.

A 16-year-old killed in a Tuesday night shooting in Tuscaloosa was identified as Xzorian Gray.
“In order to not affect the ongoing investigation, I cannot release any more details at this time,” Capt.
Jack Kennedy of the
Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said in a news statement.
Gray was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit remained at the shooting site throughout the night and into Wednesday. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the street.
Xzorian Gray was a gentle, respectful child, according to his family, who said he was rarely found without a wide grin across his face. Friends and family always called him X, and he was reportedly never the type to seek out trouble, but he also was known to stand his ground. Xzorian was only 16 years old when he was shot and killed in his vehicle late Tuesday night.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said that the shooting took place around 11 p.m. that night near the intersection of Fosters Ferry Road and 21st Street.
