Black and Latino individuals stay homeless longer than their white counterparts and are more likely to live in poverty, shows a review of the county s racial equity data.
Morris County s Community Assistance Services Committee launched its Racial Equity Task Force last spring to fix the issue. We can tell whether your odds of being homeless at some point in your life are higher, based on your race and ethnicity as opposed to an indicator like poverty for socio-economic status, said Racial Equity Task Force leader Lana Ubinski.

Washington, DC Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) last week hosted a roundtable discussion with NJ-11 and statewide leaders about the health, economic, educational, and social impacts of COVID-19 on the Hispanic community, and the action that needs to be taken to bring coronavirus relief and systemic change to New Jersey.
“Discussions like this are critical in the effort to address the disproportionate impact COVID has had on particular communities. I am grateful for the opportunity to hear from this impressive group. They provided a broad range of perspectives from the Hispanic community.
