Those coastal states have now bent their curve, as you can see, collectively, which is what you see on the left side of the screen. Now, compare that to the curve of noncoastal states on the right. The places where cases are rising the quickest appear to be in more rural and, yes, redder areas. The data matches what other experts are seeing as well, including those in the White House Task force.
