dig up dirt on biden in ukraine it anyplace. they tried to get dirt on biden. it reminds me of the children s classic, nancy drew and the case of the man murdered by nancy drew. the top republican who was helping trump when he was on a committee that was supposed to at least be nonpartisan and independent but ultimately also investigate if there was any intelligence review, now past forward and it s all out in the open. he s working for trump. that s one piece of the story, the guy who worked in congress for trump now literally works for trump. as for the business they re going into, well, you know it s risky. this start-up is already under investigation by the securities and exchange commission for a financing deal after announcing that anonymous investors or donors put up a billion into the company, bloomberg reports that those kind of hefty donations to someone who might again be in
couple other topics, because this week we learned that a conservative lawyer working for trump s legal team, john eastman, who is not some fringe guy i believe he was a supreme court clerk, he s with the federalist society he wrote a memo ahead of the january 6th insurrection laying out how vice president pence could toss out the election results in seven states, including the great commonwealth of pennsylvania which you represent, in order to throw the election for donald trump, basically a how to stage a bloodless coup memo. what was your reaction when you read about that? so i haven t read the memo so i don t know the details, but you know what i think about what happened on january 6th. in my mind, it s very clear, joe biden won the election, and we were carrying out very important but essentially ministerial process that the vice president proceeds over to finalize and formalize what we already knew had happened, which was that joe biden had been elected president.

was a coup effort. we had seen and saw the memo outlining the six-point plan by a lawyer working for trump s legal team showing how trump and others tried to get pence to subvert the constitution. i guess there s two parts to this. how close do you think the country came to an actual coup in part one. and in part two, are you guys considering legislative suggestions in terms of changing how the electoral count plays out in part of your recommendations here as a possible backstop to this? . well, i think that we can and should. i know that congressman schiff, chairman schiff is working on legislative proposals that could make changes. whether that s part of the committee s work is a topic for another day. but i think within the halls of congress and the legislative side of what we do, it is
lawyers involved getting disbarred or getting threatened with disbarment. i think that is an important thing to happen. it is important to note even if they don t cooperate, there s a lot of ways to get the documents. whether it s text, emails, phone records. the banking records of those who were involved and engaged in promoting this rally. there s a lot of records you can get. and then you still can bring any of these witnesses in front of the committee, you know, with a subpoena. and even if they are going to take the fifth or refuse to cooperate, you can read all of that information into the record. and so these tough guys always out bannon has a show that he does every week. and if he s sitting there now mute and not responding, he s not going to look so well in terms of, you know, defending donald trump once he has a lawyer sitting next to him and say, no, you re going to take the fifth amendment. i think there is going to be a lot of accountability in this
