Noles Set for NCAA Zone B Championships

Tallahassee, Fla.  –  Members of the Florida State diving team will look to qualify for the NCAA Championships at the 2023 NCAA Zone B Championships from March 5-8 at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn. “This is our one shot to make NCAAs,” FSU head diving coach John Proctor said. “We’re looking really good and we’re ready to go.” Darwin Nolasco, Tazman Abramowicz, Jesco Helling, and David Vargas will open the competition on Sunday at 2 p.m., with prelims of men’s 1-meter. The top 18 divers from prelims will advance to finals, with scores carrying over. The top seven divers will advance to nationals, which will be held March 22-25 in Minneapolis, Minn. The SEC Network plus will stream all sessions, starting with prelims of women’s 1-meter on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Samantha Vear, Isabel Gregersen, Jessica Buntman, and Vivian Johnson will represent the Noles in the women’s events.   Live scoring will be available on Divemeets.com. Four Noles, Medley Relay Selected for NCAA Championships

Tallahassee, Fla.  –  Four members of the Florida State women’s swimming and diving team were selected to compete in the 2023 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships that will be held March 15-18 in Knoxville, Tenn. The Seminoles will also compete in the 200 medley relay. Maddy Huggins, Edith Jernstedt, Julia Mansson, and Anna Metzler will compete individually, while Tania Quaglieri, Jenny Halden, and Alexandra Dicks will attend the meet as relay swimmers. “I am really happy for these ladies that qualified,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “We’re excited we get to run our top relay. We have a great shot at making the top 16. Eight Noles Earn Academic All-District

Tallahassee, Fla.  –  Eight members of No.18/NR Florida State swimming and diving teams were recognized for their efforts in the classroom on Tuesday, as the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams were announced. Izzy Gregersen, Jenny Halden, Maddie McDonald, and Anna Metzler were named to the NCAA Division I women’s swimming and diving list, while Tazman Abramowicz, Jesco Helling, Nick Mason, and Arijus Pavlidi were named to the men’s.

Noles Close Out Bulldog Invite

Results Athens, Ga.  –  The Bulldog Last Chance Invite came to a close on Sunday night at the Gabrielsen Natatorium with members of the No.18/NR Florida State swimming and diving team contributing more best times. “We had a really great day,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “Now we wait to see where everyone stands for NCAA’s.” Gloria Muzito was the winner in the women’s 100 free, touching with a time of 49.24. Sophie Freeman contributed her best in prelims of the 200 fly, touching at 1:57.18, which is now the fourth-fastest time in FSU history. Freeman took fourth place in finals at 1:58.83. Maddy Huggins added her career-best in the 200 breast, winning the race with a time of 2:09.55. Her swim now ranks third in FSU history. The Seminoles will look for one final push to qualify for the NCAA Championships in March. “We’re excited to race and see if we can get a couple more to nationals,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “They have looked great all week and we’re ready to go.” Prelims will start at 10 a.m., on Saturday and Sunday, with finals following at 5 p.m., on Saturday.
