gender imbalance is now. but still, they re doing it in pink. as the republicaning struggle to come up with ways to be more appealing to female voters, congressional republicans are pushing back as loudly as they can, angrily on the idea that they need be doing any of this. they are trying to get away from the idea that they have a problem with women that they have to be trying to make go away. they don t understand why everybody keeps saying they have this women problem. it s just made up. my friends, this supposed war on women or the use of similarly outlandish rhetoric bipartisan operatives has two purposes and both are political in their purpose and effect. the first, purely political. the first is to distract citizens from real issues that really matter and the second is to give talking heads something to sputter about when they appear on cable television.
essentially putting the blame on the media for creating the women problem or the perception of a women problem. the democrats jumped on those remarks saying they were completely out of touch. yesterday a poll showed the president was ahead of mitt romney by 18 points in key swing states. david axelrod tweeted this, from the department of clueless, rnc chair says gop problems with women are contrived by media. on to some business nut where economists are predicting another month of jobs growth. when the march employment report comes out about three hours from now, reuters survey shows most experts think the national unemployment rate will remain steady at 8.3% for the third consecutive month. this comes a day after the president signed the bipartisan jobs act to help small businesses and start-ups and, yes, this is eric cantor in your picture. he made a rare appearance with
what do you say to those republicans who say that you are spending way too much time talking about divisive cultural issues, that they don t want to get into a culture war, and if you re a nominee, this would doom you with women voters and in fact with independent voters. you know they re coming from high places in washington. the gallup poll said we re leading among women, and we re doing well. people care about families, people care about what s happening to our society. but i do get these questions, as john king tried to do, on contraception and other things that are sort of outrageous types of questions. and then the next question from the reporter is, why are you talking so much about social issues? so they ask, and then they say you re talking about social issues all the time. i understand the game and we re just going to stay on message about what we re going to do to make this country more prosperous, build up a strong foundation for our country which clearly is,
