Also breaking, this man, mason james lira, the man wanted in connection with the shooting of a deputy in san luis county has been shot in a shootout with police. It happened at paso robles in the last hour. Unclear what his condition is at this point. Several officers are hurt. Investigators say he went on a shooting spree early yesterday morning when he started shooting at the Paso Robles Police department building. The deputy who responded to that call shot in the face. Investigators also discovered a body nearby at the amtrak station and they believe lira is linked to that as well.
