Apartment plans for Arpley House Wilson Patten Street site

PLANS have been drawn up to demolish a characterful building in the town centre and replace it with apartments. Proposals seek permission to level Arpley House on Wilson Patten Street to clear the way for the four-storey development. If approved, the application would see the creation of 74 apartments within walking distance of the town centre. The site also encompasses an existing car park. According to the developer, the top of the door surround on Arpley House would be retained and displayed in a communal garden for residents. It also says that the new development would make more efficient use of the footprint of the site, incorporating basement car parking spaces, a ground floor cycle store and a lobby for residents.

TARGET: The Go Outdoors store in Warrington THREE thieves - including one from Bolton, have been jailed after nearly £2,000 of coats were stolen from a Cheshire store in one day. Kearsley’s Jonathan Hodson, and Anthony Howell and John Mannion, both from Manchester, were all caged at Warrington Magistrates Court on Saturday after the spate of shoplifting at Go Outdoors on Wilson Patten Street in Warrington. The previous day, Good Friday, 46-year-old Hodson pinched had £1,310 of Gortex jackets from the shop. When challenged, he was found to be in possession of a magnet which had been used in order to remove security tags from the goods.

4 roadworks set to take place in Warrington in next month

Knutsford Road and Station Road, Latchford > Work will take place to install new traffic lights and repair the carriageway. The first phase will be March 29 until April 16 between 9.30am and 3.30pm and will see the footpaths closed. On April 15, the road will close between 7pm and midnight. Cockhedge roundabout, town centre > Carriageway surfacing will take place from March 29 for five weeks between 7pm and 1am. The work will take on the roundabout and for 100 metres along the following roads, A49 Lythgoes Lane; Battersby Lane; A57 Manchester Road; A49 Brick Street; A57 Midland Way. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

Chesro Limited’s outline planning application came before the council’s development management committee during its virtual meeting on Wednesday. The scheme proposed the construction of an eight-storey building for up to 39 apartments on land adjacent to the BT Exchange building, south of Stanley Street. The site will be made up of three three-bed, 11 two-bed and 25 one-bed apartments. Furthermore, the plans include the development of around 112 sq m of commercial use on the ground floor.
