Plans for 76 flats on Wilson Patten Street set to be approved

PLANS for a four-storey building of 76 apartments in the heart of Warrington town centre look set to be approved.

PLANS have been drawn up to demolish a characterful building in the town centre and replace it with apartments.

Dan Whelan Bolton-based real estate investor Park Equity Invest wants to create a 74-apartment scheme on the site of the Wilson Patten Street office building. Arpley House would be demolished to make way for the four-storey development but part of the existing door surround would be retained and displayed in the communal residents’ garden, according to architect Falconer Chester Hall.  The new development would make “more efficient use of the footprint” and incorporates basement car parking spaces, ground floor cycle storage and residents’ lobby, the architect added.   A planning application has been submitted and is awaiting approval by Warrington Council.

PLANS have been drawn up to demolish a characterful building in the town centre and replace it with apartments. Proposals seek permission to level Arpley House on Wilson Patten Street to clear the way for the four-storey development. If approved, the application would see the creation of 74 apartments within walking distance of the town centre. The site also encompasses an existing car park. According to the developer, the top of the door surround on Arpley House would be retained and displayed in a communal garden for residents. It also says that the new development would make more efficient use of the footprint of the site, incorporating basement car parking spaces, a ground floor cycle store and a lobby for residents.
