Active COVID-19 cases drop as region reports 47 new infections Wednesday
Waterloo region saw 47 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. There were 52 people in the region s hospitals with 36 people in the intensive care units.

Drop in hospitalizations as region reports 47 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday
The number of people in hospital dropped by seven in new numbers released by Region of Waterloo Public Health on Tuesday to 52, while the number of people in the ICU remained steady at 34.

65 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Waterloo region on Monday
There were 65 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Waterloo region on Monday with 59 people in hospital and 34 of those people in the ICU.

Hospitalizations remain at 59, with 33 patients in intensive care.
No new deaths were reported, leaving the local death toll unchanged at 252.
The active caseload is 546.
Here are some other updates from the region s dashboard:
198,636 doses of the COVID vaccine have been administered - 16,248 people in the region have been fully vaccinated (2.76 per cent)
1,950 cases have screened positive for variants of concern - 50 are the U.K. strain - two are linked to the variant first detected in South Africa - six are linked to the strain first found in Brazil - lineage to the other 1,892 has not been determined yet
13,530 resolved cases (94 per cent)
Region of Waterloo Public Health has reported a total of 146 new COVID-19 infections over the weekend. The number of COVID-related hospitalizations remained the same over the two days with 59 people in hospital with the infection, 33 of which are in the intensive care unit. That’s 6 fewer people in hospital and one more person in the ICU than on Friday.
