âThe natural world, and the people who love it, are undoubtedly better off because of her.â â FWP nomination letter
MPG Ranch ecologist Kate Stone was named âBiologist of the Yearâ last week by the Montana Chapter of The Wildlife Society.
In a Facebook post shortly after she accepted the award, Stone said she cried when she read the nomination letters that talked about her accomplishments on so many different levels.
Thereâs a common theme in those letters submitted by fellow researchers, scientists, landowners and other folks who hoped that Stone would be honored this year. Not only is Stone tireless in her pursuit of knowledge about wildlife, but she is also gifted in her ability to build bridges with the public and getting people excited enough to get involved as citizen scientists.
