A moving farewell for pioneer of the people, reverend Cecil Williams, known around the bay area and beyond, was honored with a memorial today from leaders to locals, well hear the tributes to his legacy. And he is, of course, the founder of glide memorial church. Reverend williams passed away last month at the age of 94, and today, hundreds gathered to say their goodbyes. We begin this noon with breaking news after a mysterious smell at a san jose sunrise middle school, sending two students to a hospital, a half a dozen others being evacuated. Now, the campus located on east julian street. And that is where we find ktvu. South bay reporter jesse gary with much more on this story. Jesse andre garcia, good afternoon to you. The large fire and ems presence that had been outside this school for most of the morning has left, as you said, two students are hospitalized here in the south bay. Six others being evacuated. Lets go ahead and take a look at our video. The San Jose Fire Department says this began around 9 00 this morning. Teachers here at sunrise middle school, which is a Charter School in the Roosevelt Park section of san jose. Those teachers called 911, saying at least eight students were sickened by something in the air in a classroom in the rear of the complex. Fi
All out for rafah protests. This comes as israeli troops have seized the palestinian side of the rafah Border Crossing, which is a vital entryway for humanitarian aid. That is where this protest and rally has been going on for the last. Our theres been many different speakers here. You can see all the various signs as well. This is the area that students have been camping out for weeks now. This encampment, a propalestine protest. They said theyve been protesting. Theyve been doing walks, marches, writing letters for 7 months of this war and they will not stop until there is a ceasefire. As you said, the anchors there, there all the signs about people saying all eyes on rafah because many are saying here at this protest theres only 3 days left for food in some of those minute tearing needs. So theyre very worried about those involved.
